Description

The Omega nebula is located between 5 and 6 thousand light years away in the constellation Sagittarius and is about 15 light years in diameter.

This is my first attempt of a quad-narrow band image. I recently acquired the Antlia ALP-T 5nm dual band SII/Hb to complement the Optolong L-eXtreme which provides Ha and OIII. I used a modified Foraxx palette to include the Hb data. The result is quite unique. Interestingly I added more Ha and OIII and the processed result, though containing much more background nebulosity, did not provide as pleasing a result. I'll be spending some time experimenting.
